I do not wish to get into those overnight schemes as they are all scams. All I want is to make a few extra quid to pay my bills. Can you please suggest a legitimate way? I am willing to do online proof reading and editing etc kind of work too. Thanks!

You can earn extra money online by participating in GPT sites (Get Paid To). One site that I personally use and love is free to join, unlike most ‘money making sites’ out there.
Basically what you do is fill out free surveys and offers, and they pay you to do this. They pay around $.25-5.00+ depending on whichever one you do. You can do as many as you like and there are hundreds to choose and do from. There are other ways to earn money on the site, such as referring friends, or participating in their rewards program and earning points to get prizes.
I personally make around $150-200ish extra a month, that’s on the low side and I don’t do it everyday…there are stay at home moms though and other people with a lot of time on their hands that does make over $1000 a month. In response to your question, there are thousands of ways to make money online. One of the easiest and cheapest ways I have found to make some extra money online is this. Most people do not have a website or a product to sell and do not have a clue how to get started making money. For me, being an affiliate for someone who already has a good product is a great way to make money with little investment.
You can take a look, for free, at http://www.clickbank.com for programs that offer to pay you nice commissions to sell their products. They have an extensive library of help that can get you started and let you know how to promote absolutely free. There are alot of scams and get rich quick programs out there, but Clickbank is not one of them. You can set up an account for free and advertise for free, but some of the paid advertisements get you better results.

I would suggest trying GPT sites. These are sites that will pay you for answering surveys, signing up for offers, doing free trials etc.

They are a great site that pays daily with the potential for instant payments. There is alot of money to be made there.

If you’re willing to do online proofreading then you can set up an account with places like getafreelancer, elance, rentacoder, guru. Some of these places require you to pay a monthly fee. Some don’t but will take a commission out of everything you make.
Keep in mind that at these sites you will have to bid for a job, and you will be competing with everyone around the world. Some people are willing to bid for very, very low pay.
You’re better off writing for places like Associated Content, Suite 101. Helium or Triond. Associated Content pays the best.
