I’m a student at university and am looking for legitimate work at home oppertunities that actually work and earn you money! Has anybody out there been able to earn decent amounts of money by working from home?

Hey man, I found this new fairly popular site called Bukisa. It’s free to use and it’s very similar to Wikipedia, however you earn money, based on how many people view your content. You simply submit articles or content or even pictures on topics you feel competent to write about and you earn $3.50US per 1000 views. $3.50 doesnt sound like a lot, but if you can write fairly quickly, you can get 100 topics online in no time. You can also refer people and you get a % of what they earn. It’s a very clever website, more people are using it every day. I know there is no way to prove this, but I currently earn around $6US a day, which doesnt seem like a lot, but it adds up, and is very handy, consider I will keep recieving this money for doing nothing. Well everyone knows how the economy is right now. So i have seen a lot of adds online about making money from home without having to sell anything. For example Google says they pay you to put up adds online. There are many more but i know a lot of those are scams. Does anyone know of one that really does pay? And if possible one that you don’t have to send lots of money for a kit or something.

I’ve visited and participated in various sites where people can make money and was most annoyed by how many of them used "employees" as spam mules. For example, Cash Crate requires its people to pass out their email addresses like they’re candy, and though people might make a couple of dollars here and there for their efforts, no one compensates them for the amount of spam their email (or alternately managed email) address receives.

I’m still new to yahoo here, so I can’t tell you what I do from home personally. But I can refer you over to a couple of people who are in the same industry as I am in. There are actually quite a few different ways you can work from home. One is a call center, the pay is minimum wage and you have to lock into curtain time slots. I did this for a while and it does pay, but the pay is minimal.
The other way to work from home, is to start up your own business. A simple home based business you actually can make an incredible income in. Surprising, You have the same income opportunity as a traditional business has, but without all the over head expenses. The majority of the things you use in your house on a daily bases, becomes tax write off’s.
I found the best type of home based business is in the telecommunications industry because everyone uses (male or female, child or teen) uses the products every day. What we did was partner up with a 15 year old company that is world wide. The largest direct selling Telecommunication service provider in the world. They are 15 years old with head quarters in Farmington Hills Michigan, Charlotte North Carolina, Amsterdam, Sydney and Montreal. They have been featured in several magazines like USA Today, Success, Fortune etc. Inc 500 rated them the 22nd fastest growing company in revenue in it’s first five years. They are registered with the BBB.
They market in services people use every day and pay for anyway. Services like Local and Long Distance telephones, Internet, Digital, video phones, Satellite TV, and all the major cellular phone companies like T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, Nextell, Altell etc as well. We save people money and make money at the same time. Every single month these people pay their bills, we make a percentage over and over again each month. Donald Trump has endorsed our company and uses the services as well. You can work off line or on line etc.
How many people do you know, or know of around the world that uses one or more of these services or products? . A lot of people right? You can save them money and make money.

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.

If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as ‘Best’.

I was thinking about trying to make some money from home, but their are sooooo many things that promise soooo much, but can any of them really deliver?

They are scams.. they are ALL scams. The only people who make money from working at home online are people with a specialized skill and they have a certain amount of tenure on their existing job to where they can be trusted to work from home.

Also, you could start your own business. But it would have to be something unique and something that you originate yourself. Most times when you buy into some gimmick you soon find out that they want you to sell that same gimmick to someone else.

They all find a different way to dress it up but essentially they are about selling the same thing that you bought which nobody else wants and you were the only "sucker" out of 1000 people who know better.
