There’s actually a lot of good companies that you can work at home online,make some money without paying for it. It’s difficult to know where to refer you to. Your questions doesn’t have enough detailed information on what your qualifications are, your typing speed, what your experiences are etc. So I’m going to refer you over to a really good article on home based jobs. You need to send your resume out to real jobs you are qualified to do.
In your cover letter you need to state that you wish to work remotely, from your home office. LOTS of companies, especially in CA operate this way. They usually provide transportation for you to come in for an interview and for you to attend company meetings a few times a year, but otherwise everything is done online.

Ok, this may take around a month or two, but has great reward. Its simple start blogging. Post at least 2 to 3 blog entries every day, be active and make some blogger friends on net. Tell them to link your site on theirs. More the links to your website, more beneficial it would be for you. Slowly, as your site gets more links, start posting ads from either google adsense or Yahoo networks. In my experiences, I haven’t found a work-from-home job that doesn’t require some hard work getting started and becoming successful. However, I am in a business that I get to choose my own hours, and work from home, and it travels with me if I move. But it does require hard work and people skills and self discipline to become successful. The Flash demonstration on their site can explain it better than I can. When someone buys a game after following your link, or after visiting a free web page you set up using their tools, you earn 25% of the purchase price. Plus the company remembers you referred that person and you get 25% of their future purchases, too.
Basically you want people who are interested in games to visit your game links, or the link to the free page you set up. It’s not hard to track how many people you’ve referred (and how much money you’ve made, once you start earning).
