The work from home jobs that aren’t scams actually require work on your part – and if you’re in need of money soon then you’re likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. I have other ideas that may help – one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself – try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don’t have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc – they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

There are companies out there who manufacture products and will ship them to the end user at your direction. No inventory, no minimums. Pretty much pay as you go. If you can find the right product mix and the right audience you can make some money doing this. Just be careful.

You need to send your resume out to real jobs you are qualified to do.

In your cover letter you need to state that you wish to work remotely, from your home office. LOTS of companies, especially in CA operate this way. They usually provide transportation for you to come in for an interview and for you to attend company meetings a few times a year, but otherwise everything is done online.

I’ve had a lot of experience over the past 3 years with this subject. I went through litereally 50+ different companies on the interent trying to make money while I was in college. There’s sooo much crap out there and companies that promise you the world but deliver nothing but hype, it takes a while to seperate the crap from the genuine money making opportunities.

First, there are a few cardinal rules I follow for looking for legitimate online jobs:

1) If they ask for any type of fees, RUN FAR AWAY!
2) You will most likely not find a plain ol’ data entry job.
3) Work at home jobs are not any easier than regular jobs you do outside the home, anything promising lots of money for doing nothing is a scam or a bad business opportunity.
4) Do not "process payments" for anyone, you could end up in the big house.
5) Is the job they are offering going to "change your life", I doubt it.
6) Legitimate companies will not advertise their jobs on banners or spam mail.
